Backwell Drama Club presents Simply Jane Saturday 08 Sep 2012 Performance Time: 19:30 Box Office: 01275 462615 Tickets: £8 Jane Dawes explores the life and work of this well-loved and prolific writer in her brand new production, Simply Jane.  In a one woman "tour de force", Jane illustrates an interesting and entertaining biographical account of Austen’s life.  The performance includes readings from a selection of letters - demonstrating Jane Austen’s wit and mischievous sense of humour - and dramatised extracts from some of her best loved novels including Pride & Prejudice, Emma and Persuasion. Audiences will love the excellent contrasting characterisations of Mrs Bennet and Lady Catherine de Bourgh in addition to Anne Elliot, Lady Russell, Harriet Smith and Emma Woodhouse. Jane Dawes is no stranger to the life of Jane Austen, having toured extensively with productions of both Persuasion and Pride & Prejudice to theatres and arts centres throughout the South of England. She has performed several times at the Jane Austen Festival in Bath, in addition to appearing at Jane Austen House in Chawton, Hampshire and Winchester Museum with her own production of Jane Austen - Her Life.
