Backwell Playhouse  Saturday, 24th October  19:30

Join Backwell Playhouse for North Somerset’s best and longest-running Comedy Night. We start our 2026/27 season with an amazing line up of comedians, headlined by David Hoare, and supported by Mark Pencherz and Andrew Watts.

Mark Pencherz is a cheeky mischief-maker bringing big laughs with sharp jokes, playful audience banter and that unmistakable ’your favourite naughty relative’ energy.
Andrew Watts is a British stand-up comedian with a dry, carefully observed style and a knack for finding the comic tension in ordinary life. His material draws on relationships, work, politics and the small negotiations of modern adulthood, delivered with the calm precision of someone who has thought about the punchline before arriving at it. Watts was a finalist in So You Think You're Funny? and in the Laughing Horse New Act competition, and has taken a series of solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe. His work has also appeared on television through Jongleurs Live! and FHM’s Stand-Up Hero.

David Hoare is a one-liner-musical-comedian; mixing silly, staccato songs with idiotic mischievousness! Winner of the Audience Favourite Prize at the Musical Comedy Awards 2021. Tour support for Lauren Pattison, Alison Spittle, Mark Nelson & Dr Ed Patrick. "An annoyingly funny young man" Gary Delaney . "With some slick one-liners and aggression akin to Bo Burnham, James Acaster or Tim Vine" Deadline News.

This event is not suitable for under 16’s and may contain explicit content. Performances may be recorded and posted on social media.
