Hiring the Playhouse

Looking for a theatre to host your touring production?
Wanting to premiere your new film?
Your Youth Group presenting their End of Year performance?

Backwell Playhouse is available to hire for any of your events; we have hosted plays, private film events, music groups and personal events. The Playhouse's unique and intimate setting is ideal for your visit, and our friendly and welcoming volunteers will help make everything go perfectly.

The main auditorium accomodates 99 people in fully-raked theatre seats. The performance area is flexible to suit the needs of your event, and features a full lighting rig; we can also accomodate your sound equipment. Our dressing room has been refitted recently to allow areas to be curtained off while performers are changing. We have a fully licenced bar in our separate foyer for your guests to make an evening of it!

Dates of hire are subject to availability around other external hires, classes and our in-house activities. Theatrical technicians will not be provided for performances, but assistance can be offered to help with familiarity to our set up. The Playhouse operates on a basis of hiring the venue at a single cost; sale of tickets are then the responsibility of the hirer and taken on at your own risk. The Playhouse may help informally with advertising such as through our website and social media forums, but take no further responsibility.
