Another Future by John Upward "What do we want? Survive. When do we want it? Now!" ANOTHER FUTURE is both a love story and a political drama with a modern theme. Kathy is re-assigned from her job as a celebrity journalist to cover a general election where she meets Giles, an environmentalist and candidate. They soon find themselves up against the Machiavellian Torrington Denby. Will their relationship, their integrity and the Earth survive? Written by Backwell resident, John Upward, this short play follows his previous Playhouse productions "Manhattan Nights" and "Below Stairs". ALLOTMENT by Jules Horne "There were two sisters, and they were very different" ALLOTMENT is a darkly funny play about two green-fingered sisters, Dora and Maddy, who live out their rivalry among the plants. The play follows their complex and quirky relationship as they live through the seasons in their allotment. When the unexpected rocks their uneasy balance, it’s time to do something radical.
