The Playhouse presents Lighting Principles Free Talk Monday 08 May 2023 Performance Time: 19:30 Box Office: Tickets available from our shop: Backwell Playhouse Ticket Shop Tickets: Free Event The Playhouse is delighted to offer a free talk by our Lighting Designer, Mike Halstead. Over the course of this two hour presentation, Mike will take you through the basics and principles of lighting a stage production. Mike has been designing lighting both as an amateur and professional for 48 years. He has worked on several hundred productions, mainly musicals but also drama, dance and rock & roll. He was the Technical Manager for the Planet Theatre in Slough and later for the West Wing Arts Centre for which he designed the theatre installation. He ran his own theatre company in the 1990–s and was a tutor on the NODA Technical Summer Schools for 3 years. This evening is the ideal way for anyone to learn more about the art of lighting in a friendly and welcoming environmenta and is suitable for most ages and any skill/experience level. There will be a break midway through the talk, where our bar will be open for refreshments.
