In this zany one-act drama, you’ll see that people don’t just die and go to Heaven or Hell. It’s not that easy. There are forms to fill in, assessments to be made and background checks to do before the dead can journey to eternal afterlife. That’s where God and the Devil’s admin office at Number 13 Acacia Avenue comes in. Overworked couple Colin and Sue along with their newly arrived admin assistant Sky, have to assess all dead clients prior to their onward journey to the afterlife. And if there’s disagreement over whether that should be to Heaven or to Hell, clients might have to wait in Purgatory. Or if space is tight in Purgatory, Weston-super-Mare. With only three staff at Number 13 dealing with dead clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this poignant offbeat comedy explores the absurdity of death and the part played by kindness and forgiveness, both in this world and the next.
This hugely talented collective of actors and dramatists are alumni of the Bristol Acting Academy, the lovechild of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School’s Gary Owston. Some of the actors are treading the boards in the West End and on tour in the UK. Others are appearing in film and TV programmes both in the UK and abroad. | |
